Kiewit-Turner Recognizes Local Veterans
On Nov. 12, 2015, Kiewit-Turner recognized veterans working on the Replacement Medical Center Facility. The event included a commemorative program followed by a catered barbecue lunch for the over 1,000 people working on the project.
“Kiewit-Turner is humbled by the bravery, service and sacrifices made by our veterans. We were honored to extend a small token of our appreciation with this luncheon and program,” said David Duffy, senior operations manager, Kiewit-Turner.
According to Frank McCurdy, president of the United Veterans Committee of Colorado, the program and luncheon are visible signs of the positive progress Kiewit-Turner, the Veterans Administration (VA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) are making in completing this project.
The event was held at the Replacement Medical Center Facility, Eastern Colorado Health Care System, which is being constructed by Kiewit-Turner, a joint venture between Kiewit and Turner Construction. Once complete, the replacement hospital will serve more than 85,000 veterans and feature a spinal cord injury center and research facility.
